The seasonal draw

Whatever the Weather, There's Something Waiting.

The food changes with Chicago. The reason to come together does not.

More than food

More Than What's in the Bowl or Cone.

This is being built as a place where neighbors can eat, talk, connect, and spend time together. Ice cream and soup may bring people through the door, but community is the reason behind the space.

Charles has spent about 18 years in this neighborhood doing violence education and working with young people. The business is the next chapter of that same work: a year-round gathering place, not a shop that only matters in July.

A future weekly gathering

A Cone & A Conversation

Once a week, neighbors can gather around a topic that matters to them. Come for a cone, a sundae, a shake, or another dessert. Stay for the conversation.

The point is not to tell people what to think. The space is meant to make room for residents to talk about the issues they already care about — and to do it over something sweet.

Our vision for the space

A backyard big enough for the block.

The property includes a substantial outdoor rear area. The build-out is still underway. These images are conceptual — a look at the kind of gathering place Charles is working toward, not finished amenities.

Youth creativity

Giving Young Voices Room to Create.

Another part of the building is planned as a podcast and media studio for young people. The goal is simple: give them a place to write, direct, film, record, produce their own episodes, and work on ideas together.

This is a creative room, not a media academy. The invitation is to try, collaborate, and be heard.

Family & neighborhood

Built with the next generation in the room.

Charles is raising five children, and he wants this business to be a place where they can learn, create, try entrepreneurship, and connect with other young people. The shop is meant to be rooted in the same community they are growing up in.

Approved family photographs will replace this temporary image when they are ready.
